Biltong is an air dried, spiced and salted meat which is made using 100% Qld beef. It undergoes a curing process, with vinegar, spices, salts, and the rest is of course a secret! We offer 5 types of biltong. Traditional, Chilli, Peri-Peri, Pepper and a Wet and Fatty.
Traditional is a plain style dried beef using a non-spicy spice.
Chilli This is not an over powering flavour of chilli. It simply has a nice warm flavour to it.
Peri-Peri has a 3 spice mix and the peri-peri is for the folks who love a bit of a bite to their meat. Not recommended for anyone who can’t handle spicy food.
Wet and Fatty is traditionally known by the South Africans. Pepper blended white pepper with a generous sprinkle of cracked black pepper.
It is the way most South Africans prefer to eat their biltong. We use a 100% Australian beef. It is sliced with a portion of fat attached to each strip of meat. This enhances the flavour of the biltong. The spices are added and then air dried for approximately 2 days or so, only. It retains a lot more moisture and has a red appearance in the centre.
